I don't think I've ever felt so low about being in a shop than I did the other day. I'm not sure if it's indicative of Country Road ethos or just the staff in particular at their Robina Town Centre store.
Now as you know I'm doing a little of a homeware spruce up at home and I happen to really love (or rather loved) their Home range. That's why I was there.
As a plus size woman obviously none of their clothing range will fit me BUT I have every right to be in that store regardless if I was shopping for homewares, shoes, children's clothing or even buying Hubby a thing or two.
Not ONCE was I acknowledged, with a smile or a simple hello, not even approached to see if I needed any assistance. However the staff could manage to ask every other shopper AFTER ME. Yes sure they looked at me, only as if to say "what are YOU doing in here".
How dare these women cast a pre-conceived judgement about me.
Never in my life have I experienced this attitude from store assistants EVER, ANYWHERE. Not until I walked into Country Road.
Needless to say I walked out, right into another store where I was warmly greeted and more importantly where I SPENT MY MONEY.
Have you ever experienced this type of attitude before?
How did it make you feel?
